Emerging Poets, 3rd Sunday of the month, 1:30-3:00pm PT on Zoom
Join your host Mary F. Lenox for Emerging Poets of San Diego on the third Sunday every month, from 1:30 – 3:00 pm PT, via Zoom.
Poets and poetry lovers, join us to witness and uplift each other. Read one of your poems and receive supportive feedback from the group. This is not a poetry critique group, but an encouraging space for reading and sharing poetry.
If you’d like to attend:
1) RSVP by the Friday before the event, if possible, either through FB messenger or email: kellyrisingmoon@gmail.com
2) Email the poem you’d like to read at least two days prior to the event. The first 10 people who RSVP with a poem will get the chance to read.
We’ll send you the zoom link and a document with all the poems before the meeting.

Mission Statement
EMERGING POETS OF SAN DIEGO
We unite and uplift each other through poetry. Our primary consideration is a safe and nurturing space to share our poems. We create this through deep, respectful listening and affirmative words.
This is not a critique group. It’s an antidote to the voices that tell us to change our writing, viewpoints and ourselves. We don’t suggest how writers edit their work, unless a poet asks specific questions.
Each attendee may read one or two poems and receive feedback. A supportive response is appreciated. We may share a line we enjoy, how the poem makes us feel, an insight we derived, another poem or memory it evokes, and the like.
We see listening as a sacred art. There’s no obligation to read or respond to a poem.
Our focus is poetry. We encourage each other to write in a way that feels authentic and meaningful. We aim to champion the poet, rather than achieve the perfect line.
